Driving diversity through entry-level work opportunities
When Bray Leino was founded in North Devon 50 years ago, the marketing industry was almost entirely based in London. We have always valued a different perspective. And that translates to the talent we recruit too. In order to encourage diversity of thought, we offer a range of career entry routes, to make our Agency – and wider industry – accessible to people from a range of backgrounds.
A career in marketing offers great opportunities for those with a hunger to learn, grow and make a real impact – and you don’t need a degree to get a foot on the ladder. Here are some of the entry routes and outreach initiatives available within Bray Leino.

Entry level positions
Because you don’t need a degree to work in marketing, there are a number of entry level roles across Bray Leino. We hire candidates from 18 years old and support growth through a comprehensive programme of continuous professional development (CPD) – on the job learning, training opportunities and industry-recognised certification. Internships
We offer a range of internships within different departments across Bray Leino – suited to different skills and interests. For example, if you have an interest in web development and emerging tech, we look to place within the Digital team; a people person with good organisational skills can gain experience in Client Services...
Internships last from a couple of weeks in the summer to a full year’s industry placement and are available to both school leavers and those in higher education, as per our partnership with The Strive (West of England Black, Asian and minority ethnic) Internship programme, offering placements to university students.
Apprenticeships
We offer a variety of apprenticeships, providing the opportunity to study towards a qualification alongside a paid role within the company. Our apprentices are paid a living wage, the equivalent of the working wage for the role the apprenticeship is in.
Work Experience
We offer a number of work experience placements each year. These typically last a couple of weeks and provide an introduction to the Agency and wider industry. Work experience explores various roles across the diverse departments for a real taste of the breadth of Agency life, informing a deeper understanding and helping inspire career choices.
T-Level placements
Bray Leino works with local colleges to provide industry placements to students currently undertaking a T-Level course. A combination of classroom theory and learning on the job, T-Levels are designed to meet the needs of industry and prepare learners for entry into skilled employment.
On-Site Educational Days
We understand that the Career Consideration stage starts in school. As such, every year, we host a number of students in the Filleigh office, giving a feel for different areas of the business through a series of interactive workshops and activities to inspire and educate young people on the variety of skillsets required in an Agency. These open days introduce new and potentially unconsidered career options to young people in an effort to promote the advertising industry.
Virtual Discovery Sessions
We have delivered a number of virtual workshops to students in state school education, previously working with the charity Speakers for Schools. Typically aimed at Key Stage 3 and 4 students, these sessions educate future talent about marketing and inform them of the career possibilities within our sector, generating interest and excitement about our industry.
