Toasting success: St Austell Brewery wins two international awards
05 October 2009
Bray Leino has helped its client St Austell Brewery to win two medals for label design at the 2009 International Beer Awards.
In the awards, billed as the world's largest packaged beer competition, the wheat beer Clouded Yellow received a gold and India pale ale Proper Job collected a silver, both in the re-launched product category.
The 2009 success comes a year after St Austell's Admiral's Ale won the 'Best Beer in the World' award in the 2008 International Beer Challenge.
A separate design and packaging awards section was introduced to this year's International Beer Awards to recognise the importance packaging plays as a sales driver and reward outstanding examples.
Sarah Gardner, who heads up the St Austell Brewery account for Bray Leino, says: "The labels of both products have been designed to be part of the St Austell family but at the same time have their own unique look and feel to make them appeal on shelf. We are delighted that they caught the eye of the judges as they have certainly done just that with customers."
Jeremy Mitchell, Head of Marketing at St Austell Brewery, adds: "It is testament to our working relationship with Bray Leino that they have created a design that both wins awards and appeals to customers. It is great that our products are now picking up awards for the way they look as well as the way they taste."
