Don't Be A Turkey - Get Ready For Christmas

Christmas may be months away, but planning for what remains the biggest single spending spree in the calendar has to start early if you're going to keep a step ahead of your competitors. In 2008, almost every Christmas campaign we created was set by August. That meant our design team working on concepts and visuals right through June & July - with images of Santa skewing beach holidays and summer BBQs!

This year will be no different. We are already working on ideas for campaigns, Christmas switch-on and launch events, accompanying media schedules - and even competitions with potential third parties. One of the most successful campaigns we ran last year was for Mill Gate Shopping Centre in Bury. The Centre Manager, Colin Nichol, says: "Destination's work at Mill Gate has encompassed a very wide range of activities - from major work of re-branding the site, resulting in a top-quality internal and external signage package, to the more general activities such as the development and launch of our excellent website. They work closely with us to deliver our annual marketing strategy - covering all promotional activity tracking the important events in the retail calendar." Colin adds: "They have also advised and helped us with a mix of initiatives from the launch of a Kids' Club to the promotion of fashion shows and Christmas launches. They manage the process well - and the results speak for themselves. Our footfall in 2008 has been significantly up against all the national trends. They understand our industry. In short, they make a positive difference."
