Inside Industrial

Part of BP, Castrol Industrial is a global enterprise that makes the lubricants that literally oil the wheels of industry. Its products are used across the world in a diverse range of sectors including car manufacturing, food production, and wind energy.

Bray Leino’s ‘Inside’ campaign for Castrol Industrial demonstrates that B2B marketing in an industrial setting can be exciting and innovative; that robust engineering facts can be compelling and visually stimulating; and none of it has to be presented in a dry, dusty way. The ‘Inside’ idea not only integrates media and communications, but glues together all of Castrol Industrial’s vast number of sectors, products and services to unify the business and simplify it for their customers.

Working with thought leaders

Bray Leino’s relationship with Bibby Financial Services, the largest independent factoring and invoice discounting company in the UK, spans more than 12 years. Tasked to target new and established businesses and financial intermediaries with invoice finance solutions, the B2B PR team delivers a comprehensive media relations and social media programme focused on demonstrating the thought leadership of Bibby Financial Services within their industry. This includes corporate communications and stakeholder relations plus supporting a full regional and national events programme targeting influencers and the wider market.

Offshore, on message

In 2011, our Events team designed, shipped, built and managed 19 exhibition stands for the 5th Offshore Europe Event and created a new record for the number of stands from one exhibition supplier at this show.

Our Clients included Maersk, whose stand featured the very latest in AV technology, including Microtile towers, touchscreen kiosks and interactive iPads. Our work for Senergy utilised an Air Stream trailer to create an innovative meeting space for visitors. For TAQA, we created a 3D movie theatre and for the Wood Group we constructed a 5.5m high tower and seamless plasma wall which created a high-impact presence for the client.

Campaigns that work

Spirent Communications help the world communicate better and faster. They are the global leaders in testing and managing leading edge technology for the communications industry, which can very easily become complex and impenetrable for the non-specialist. Our brief was to create a brand campaign which kept things simple, consistent and coherent.  We needed to ensure comms would work for both the hard-core technical specialists who are at the sharp end of testing and the financial directors who approve contracts and judge value.

We used Bray Leino’s Unlimited Thinking approach to developing brand propositions and working very closely with the Client developed our core conversation topic ‘if it’s Spirent it works’.

Engaging and challenging

The European Aeronautic Defence and Space company EADS is a global aerospace and defence organisation that includes Airbus, Cassidian and Eurocopter – the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer, which employs 120,000 people. Bray Leino was briefed to launch a ‘Customer First’ programme for Cassidian Systems which covered employee forums, workshops and interviews and providing stakeholder manifestos. We also designed an employee engagement programme that included ‘Customer First’ events, social media, ‘Customer Challenger’ videos and digital games.

Leading the way

The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) is a UK public body which reports to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. Tasked with promoting their Creative Industries Strategy in order to secure feedback from a diverse range of businesses on the best route for Government funding, Bray Leino developed an online interactive industry debate involving industry leaders from the IPA, Media and leading edge companies.

1,200 UK companies registered for the Innovations Grants which was closely followed by a Government announcement of £100M of new funding.
